HEALING RETREAT
Kathmandu • Pashupatinath • Boudhanath • Pokhara • Pema Tsal
8 DAYS IN THE HEART OF NEPAL
This journey is an invitation to experience Nepal beyond the ordinary — not simply as a destination, but as a sacred landscape for inner transformation. Over eight days, we will move through the spiritual heart of Kathmandu, the beauty of Pokhara, and the Himalayan foothills, exploring ancient traditions, healing practices, and deep restoration.
Our days will begin with morning yoga, pranayama, meditation, and somatic practices, creating space to ground the body and quiet the mind. We will visit sacred places, experience authentic puja rituals with Guru Yagya, unique sound healing sessions, and immerse ourselves in Nepal’s living Hindu and Buddhist traditions.
A journey for those called to pause, go deeper, and rediscover themselves.
-
Our Nepal journey begins in the vibrant heart of Kathmandu. After being picked up at the airport, settle into your hotel in the atmospheric neighborhood of Thamel, where ancient temples, colorful shrines, incense-filled streets, and lively markets create your first impression of Nepal.
In the evening, we gather for a welcome dinner, meet our guides and fellow travelers, and receive an introduction to the journey ahead. We’ll take time to set our intentions, go through the retreat program, and complete our baseline health and wellbeing readings before the adventure begins.
As the sun sets, we step outside for our first walk through Thamel’s vibrant streets—a gentle first encounter with the energy, sounds, scents, and spirit of Kathmandu.
A slow arrival. A new landscape. The beginning of our journey into Nepal.
-
We begin the morning with yoga and breathwork, followed by a visit to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most important Hindu temples in Nepal.
We explore the temple grounds, observe the rituals along the Bagmati River, and take part in a traditional puja with Guru Yagya, alongside sadhus and local pilgrims.
In the afternoon, we continue to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. We will walk around the sacred monument, have lunch, and experience a singing bowl sound healing accompanied by puja and mantra.
The day closes with dinner and free time to rest, explore, or simply absorb the atmosphere of Kathmandu.
-
We begin our morning with yoga and breathwork, then set out to explore the sacred places and hidden corners of Kathmandu Valley.
We visit the Kali Temple, where we experience a traditional puja with offerings and healing bowls, then continue to Budhanilkantha to see the remarkable reclining Vishnu statue.
From there, we walk through the ancient grounds of Swayambhunath, the Monkey Temple, taking in the views over Kathmandu and the vibrant life around the stupa.
After lunch, we choose our afternoon experience together: Nagarkot or Chandragiri for mountain views and sound healing, or Basāntapur / Patan Durbar Square to wander through the old royal city and its beautiful architecture.
A day to walk, explore, connect with the sacred, and experience Kathmandu beyond the usual tourist path.
-
We slow down and dedicate the day to rest, nourishment, and deep restoration.
We spend the day at an Ayurvedic health center, where we receive a series of doctor-supervised Ayurvedic therapies, including head and full-body Abhyanga, herbal steam, Shirodhara, facial relaxation, and Chakra Basti.
In between treatments, we enjoy an organic vegetarian Ayurvedic lunch and have plenty of time to rest and integrate.
A quiet day to release, restore, and let the body come back into balance.
-
We leave Kathmandu early, around 7:00, and begin our journey west toward Pokhara. Traveling by private jeeps, we follow Nepal’s scenic mountain roads, passing through changing landscapes, villages, rivers, and hills along the way.
By afternoon, we arrive in Pokhara and check into the peaceful Pema Tsal Tibetan Monastery.
The rest of the day is intentionally slow — time to settle in, rest, explore the monastery, and prepare for the mountain journey ahead.
A day of transition — leaving the city behind and moving deeper into the mountains.
-
We begin early with a morning puja at Pema Tsal Monastery, followed by breakfast and a special Mahakala Puja.
We then head out to explore the natural and sacred sites of Pokhara Valley. We visit Mahendra Cave, stop at Devi’s Fall, and continue to Bindabasini Temple, where we make a lake offering.
After lunch, we check into our hotel and have time to rest. Those who wish can continue exploring with a visit to Shanti Stupa, the Pumdikot viewpoint, or an optional trip to Begnas Lake.
A day of monastery rituals, mountain landscapes, caves, waterfalls, and sacred waters.
-
We take a morning flight from Pokhara back to Kathmandu and settle into our hotel.
The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. We can wander through Thamel, pick up souvenirs, pick singing bowls, thangkas, pashmina and local spices, or simply relax and enjoy the city.
In the evening, we come together for a farewell dinner — a chance to share our favorite moments, celebrate the journey, and close our Nepal experience together.
One last day to wander, reflect, and celebrate everything we’ve experienced together.
-
Our Nepal journey comes to an end. After breakfast, we have our airport transfer and flight home, carrying the experiences, rituals, landscapes, and connections of the past week with us.
We leave with more than photographs and souvenirs — with a nourished body, a calmer nervous system, new perspectives, and memories to return to.
The retreat ends, but the journey within continues.
